About Us
Learn about Brock House Day Nursery…
The nursery is owned by Deana Hunt and was opened by the Countess of Wessex in 2008. Although a private business we work in partnership with Somerset Council.
We are open all year around. Monday to Friday 8am to 5.45pm (except Bank holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year). We provide morning, afternoon or all day sessions. Morning sessions are 8am – 1pm including a morning snack/breakfast and a 2 course cooked lunch. Afternoons are from 1pm – 5.45pm, which includes an afternoon snack and high tea. With some warm teas in the winter period. We also offer a school day session which is 9am – 3.30pm. And have some limited spaces available for ‘term time only’ children and ‘flexi’ children. We offer additional hours outside our set sessions where possible. This therefore allows our parents maximum flexibility.

,After our most recent Ofsted inspection, we are proud to say that we received ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ elements. You can download a copy of our Ofsted report here.
In January 2020 we won an award for ‘Best Indoor Learning Environment’ at the National Nursery Recognition Awards. Also in 2020, Deana, the owner/manager was a finalist, in the ‘Nursery Manager of the year awards’ Run by the Nursery World Magazine.
At Brock House, we are passionate about Early Years. It is our focus to ensure every child thrives within the nursery environment and in preparation for school. Our team of experienced practitioners are dedicated and enthusiastic. We work within small ‘family’ groups, treating each child as an individual and following their own interests. It is our vision to provide the best early years experience possible for your child.
In April 2025, Brock House Day Nursery officially gained The Curiosity Approach Accreditation making the setting the very first nursery in Somerset to achieve the accolade. The setting follows the ethos and modern day philosophy of The Curiosity Approach which you can find out more about here.
